Absolutely beautiful story that I see myself and my family reflected in!

As a fellow Salinas native, daughter of a farmworker and a school based Speech-Language Pathologist I absolutely love this story. I purchased multiple copies for my therapy room as well as to gift my dad and siblings. I have never seen my family’s life reflected in a children’s book. I cried while admiring the beauty of this story and its depiction in the artwork. I was able to reflect on my childhood and my upbringing as I read the story. My grandpa also came to the United States through the Bracero Program and my dad immigrated here in the 70s. I just love everything about this story. I can’t wait to share it with my students and tell them a little bit more about myself and how I see myself reflected in “Mi papá es un agrícola”.
